Amiko Mini Combo 3 Quick Start Guide

1. Physical Setup & Connections

On the back of your Mini Combo 3 box, you need to plug in two separate feeds to take full advantage of the "Combo" feature:

  1. Satellite Feed: Screw your coaxial cable coming from your satellite dish into the LNB IN port.

  2. Terrestrial Feed: Plug the coaxial cable coming from your outdoor or indoor TV aerial into the AERIAL IN port.

  3. TV Output: Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the box to an open HDMI port on your TV.

  4. Power: Connect the included 12V power supply to the wall and into the box.

2. Setting Up Your Channels (The Core Guide)

Once the box powers on and you select the correct HDMI input on your TV, follow these setup steps using your remote control to map your channels:

Part A: Scanning UK Satellite Channels (Autoscan)

  1. Press the MENU button on your remote.

  2. Navigate to the Installation menu and select Satellite Installation.

  3. Scroll through the satellite list and select Astra 2A 28.2E (this is the satellite cluster that broadcasts free UK channels).

  4. Press the Red Button on your remote to open the "Single Scan" parameters.

  5. Set the Scan Mode to Free (to ignore encrypted channels), Program Type to TV + Radio, and Service Type to Blind.

  6. Press OK to begin. The box will scan all transponders, which takes roughly 10 minutes.

Part B: Scanning Terrestrial / Aerial Channels

  1. Press the MENU button.

  2. Go to the Installation menu and choose Terrestrial Installation.

  3. Turn Tuner Power to OFF (unless you are using an active powered antenna that requires 5V juice from the box).

  4. Press the White Button to start a Terrestrial Blind Scan.

  5. Once complete, your regional aerial channels will save to the device memory.

3. Network and Wi-Fi Setup

If you want to use internet features (like the built-in weather app or RSS feeds) or update software over the air:

  • Wired Ethernet: Plug a network cable directly into the LAN port on the back. Go to System > Network Setting > Ethernet. If DHCP is turned ON, it will instantly fetch your internet configuration.

  • Wireless Wi-Fi: The Mini Combo 3 does not have built-in Wi-Fi. You must purchase a separate external Amiko USB Wi-Fi Dongle (utilizing the Ralink RT5370 chip) and plug it into one of the USB ports. Once plugged in, a Wi-Fi submenu will appear in your network settings allowing you to select your home network and enter your password.

4. Maintenance: Upgrading via USB

If you download a custom channel list or a firmware update onto a USB flash drive from an owner's forum or retailer site:

  1. Insert your USB stick into the side port of the Amiko box.

  2. Press Menu, go to System, and select Update by USB.

  3. Set the update mode (e.g., choose Channel List if you are just importing a pre-sorted channel layout).

  4. Arrow down to Start and hit OK. The box will apply the file and reboot automatically.
